Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August 1995 in London, the United Kingdom. In 2014, following a career as an actress and model she signed with Warner Bros Records. She released her debut self-titled album in 2017. The album peaked at 3rd place on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. Number One song New Rules which peaked at number six in the United States. Lipa has been awarded the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British breakthrough act in 2018. The album was rated platinum in the world. Dua Lipa was born 22nd August 1995 in London in the UK to Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is the reason she has Bosnian ancestry. Her ancestors can also be traced back to the Kosovo city of Peja. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. The siblings of Lipa are Rina and Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who also serves as the lead musician and vocalist for Oda. Kosovan band Oda. Her father played music at home, including songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa was just five years old when she started singing. At the age of nineteen, she started singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed Beautiful by Christina Aguilera and If I Ain't Got You By Alicia Keys on YouTube. Her record deal to Warner Bros. Records was announced in 2014. Her debut single New Love was released in August 2015.
